Los Gatos High School New Classroom and Music Buildings  |  Los Gatos, CA

The project consisted of construction of two new buildings on the eastern side of the campus. Each building features architectural exposed steel, skylights, classrooms, offices, and staff and conference rooms.

The two-story classroom building totals 19,695 square feet and includes 10 classrooms and an open lobby area that can be used as a workspace and/or social gathering area. This building is the new home of the Los Gatos High School robotics department, and through its efficient use of space and modern technology, the school refers to it as the “New Tech Building.”

The single-story, 15,630-square-foot music building is dedicated to the school’s music and band program. The building includes modular sound-isolation and practice rooms in a variety of sizes, each with individualized acoustical treatment. It also features large ensemble and percussion rooms, dedicated rehearsal spaces for band, choir, and color guard, and uniform storage. From the ceilings to the floors, every element was designed to provide students and staff with the optimal environment to teach, learn, and enjoy music.

The new buildings were designed to meet USGBC LEED Silver standards.
