Los Gatos High School New Classroom and Music Buildings | Los Gatos, CA
The project consisted of two new buildings at the eastern side of the campus. Each building contains architectural exposed steel, skylights, classrooms, offices, and staff and conference rooms.
The two-story classroom building is 19,695 square feet with 10 classrooms and an open lobby area that can be used for work space and/or social gathering. This is the new home of Los Gatos High School robotics department and with the efficient use of space and modern technology the school refers to this building as their "New Tech Building".
The single-story, 15,630 square-foot music building is dedicated to the school’s music and band program. This building contains modular sound isolation rooms and practice rooms in a variety of sizes with individual acoustical treatment and properties. The music building also contains large ensemble and percussion rooms, a dedicated space for band rehearsal, choir and color guard, and uniform storage. Everything from the ceilings to the floors was designed to give the students and staff the best tools to teach, learn and enjoy music.
The new buildings were designed to USGBC LEED Silver standard.
