''The one “known” for restoration of the 86-year old Earl Crabbe Gym at Placer High School was that the project would require unique solutions to unknown and complex problems that would only emerge after construction began. Solutions were further confined by the need to meet a condensed schedule that was driven by having a home for winter sports and a budget that was constrained by State mandates. This project is nearing completion and thanks to the commitment and deftness of FLINT along with other members of the design/construction team, this project is on track to achieve the target goals.''

The Historic Earl Crabbe Gymnasium renovation project consists of interior demolition of the lower level to provide new facilities for the Kinesiology department, including upgraded mechanical systems to heating and cooling the gymnasium, refreshing the existing interior with new finishes and paint, and modification to existing restrooms. Renovation of the exterior building envelope, retrofit of new windows, ADA upgrades and site improvements are also part of the project.
