Arcohe Middle School Addition and Renovation  |  Herald, CA

Construction of the new Arcohe Middle School. The classroom building is wood-framed construction with textured Hardie Panel siding, a non-combustible cementitious panel with the appearance of stucco. This was enhanced by a decorative ceramic tile wainscot and a 40-year composition shingle roof. The lighting system is energy-efficient and complemented by the use of several Solatube skylights in each of the classrooms. The gymnasium building is constructed of tilt-up concrete with exposed steel trusses in the gymnasium and an energy-efficient singly-ply roofing system. There is a kitchen, library, restrooms, and office space surrounding the gymnasium and is also tilt-up construction with a steel truss roof structure covered by 40-year composition shingles. The gymnasium and peripheral space utilizes energy efficient lighting. The site is fully developed with new infrastructure including water well and storage tanks, storm drainage and septic facilities, a new parking area, bus stop, street frontage improvements and exterior basketball and volleyball courts. Installed three portable classrooms on the site as well as the construction of three basketball / volleyball courts.
